Welcome to the Can-Am Niagara 2009 Live Auction...

     This year we are putting the most of the live auction plants online with there color images as many people have asked us to do so. Last year we had a handful of “proxy bidders” at the auction bidding on plants for those who couldn’t make it to the meeting. We would much rather see you at the meeting but we have absolutely no problems with people sending proxy bidders as we realize it isn’t always possible to make the meeting each and every year.

     Last year we split the Live Auction into 3 days, Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, this worked fabulously, nobody slipped into a coma and everyone was energized for each of the Auctions. The Live Auctions are broken up by alphabetical names of cultivars, we do not auction off cultivars in order by hybridizer name or nursery name.

     Already we have collected many of the plants for the meeting and we are very proud that we are able to bring you such a large and varied collection of modern cultivars. In addition we are happy to import the plants, that Canadians, otherwise wouldn’t be able to obtain in Canada without the additional Phytosanitary, shipping costs and the headaches of dealing with brokers and Agriculture Canada. About 50% of our attendees are American and we will have the Agriculture Inspector on-hand to write you a reverse “phyto” to return home with your plants.

      We hope to see many of you at the 13th annual Canadian-American Daylily Symposium, better known as the Can-Am Niagara Meeting. We have managed to keep the hotel rates the same as previous few years and the registration is the same as previous years.
