*RHUBARB
PIE (Stamile,P.) TET 4171-E (Cerise Masterpiece x Roses And Gold) 30”
ERe. emo. no fr. Ev. 6 ½” x 3 ¾” x 2 ½”. 5-way
branching (3 laterals + terminal Y). 25-30 buds. This is one neat
flower. It is always admired in the garden but no two flowers are quite
alike even though all are beautiful. It is not the color that varies
but rather the form of the flower. Sometimes the flowers display
elaborate “angel wings” along with normal flutes and ruffles. At other
times the flowers display “pillowing” where the edge is raised off the
surface of the flower before it is edged in white.
The flowers are a deep raspberry. Those who might
remember rhubarb know the color I am referring to. Outside the
chartreuse throat is a blue rose halo. There are also occasional white
sharks teeth and sometimes the edging is displayed in both white and
gold. In short, this flower has it all – just do not expect the form to
be consistent. A good breeder. Fertile both ways.
