     SHANTIH is a Hindu blessing wishing one “peace beyond all understanding” – a thought at once both kind and comforting.
     This cultivar fills my desire to keep some lines free from the deep gold edgings and now green edgings of the newest cultivars. It is a kind of retro look to the way daylilies used to be. Yet, this daylily commands attention. Its size, flatness and clarity of color are standout qualities in the garden. Its substance is unparalleled and it is a dormant – a quality I treasure. If it has a fault it is that it is slow growing. It is first a wonderful parent and a great garden flower and it deserves attention. Easily fertile both ways.
