Playa Blanca, Daylily
*Playa Blanca

* 'Playa Blanca' (Peat, J. ‘07) Sev., Fr., M., Re., 20 in. sc.; 6.5 in. fl., 4 way branching with 30 buds. ‘Play Blanca’ meaning ‘White Beach’ has always been referred to as ‘John’s Big White’ in the garden. What drives me and probably everyone crazy is not being able to capture size in photographs, as seen here. ‘Playa Blanca’ stands out from far across the garden due to the size, bud count and the milky white color. There is still a tiny hint of yellow as seen in the veining of the flower, but ‘Playa Blanca’ is very white indeed. ‘Playa Blanca’ has a florescent green throat and a nicely ruffled gold edge to enhance the size and milky white color. A grand flower. Very fertile both ways. (‘Diamonds in the Sky’ x ‘Canadian Snow Angel’) x ‘Tacia Marie’
