A creamy pink flower with a bright dark red eye above a deep green throat. The 1/4" deep dark red bubbly edge is surrounded by a bubbly gold edge, often with large teeth randomly showing off. Bloom time in Florida is from the middle of April to the middle of September. A single word to describe this flower would be “WOW”, a red version of ADVENTURES WITH RA, a very striking contrast between the soft pink self and the dark eye and edge. By bringing PIRATES RANSOM and MARDI GRAS BALL together with STRAWBERRY FIELDS FOREVER did two things, it darkened the strawberry to a red, greatly increasing the color contrast, and it gave the flower not only a red edge, but a double edge of red and gold. While red eyed/edged flowers are now coming on the scene, double edged flowers with red and gold edges are virtually non-existent. |
