*IMPERIAL RIDDLE

*Imperial Riddle (Peat, John, 2003) Tet., JP-F02-13 {[Restless Warrior x (Romeo Is Bleeding x Edge Of Eden)] X (Pirate’s Ransom x Didgeridoo)} EM., Re., Sev., 5.5" Fl., 24" Sc., 20-25 buds. How does one describe the color of the eye and picotee edge on this one, other than fascinating yet very intriguing? A cream, near white flower with a large faint rose-red eyezone that bleeds out into the petals. Together with the darker picotee above a green throat, this is truly a unique flower among them all. The quarter inch picotee has a bit of that rubber texture to it that is often folded in such a way that overlapping occurs along its circumference. The entire flower is surrounded by wire, serrated, gold edges that are diamond dusted. I am always stopped dead in my tracks when this intriguing beauty is in bloom. IMPERIAL RIDDLE is unique because not only does the eye bleed into the petal self, but it is a much lighter color than the picotee.  This creates a unique look to the flower that is unlike any other.  This flower may be an important break in breeding flowers with edges but no eye.
