*SHADOWS OF THE PYRAMIDS (Raspberry Candy x 9628) 6" Fl., 19" Sc., EM., Re., 15 buds. Believe it or not, we fought over the pollen from this flower every day; the true meaning of the 'Early Bird gets the worm'. The complex eye of this flower is extremely important in breeding for patterned daylilies, the newest category in the AHS awards and honors. The triple banded eye, in shades of rose, also appear on the sepals. The combination of the complex eye on a cream gold flower was to much to resist racing for the pollen. This is a particular favorite of mine as its children all show the variations in the paterned eye.
