Small World I'm a Little Batty(Miller, M., ’11) Dip., sw-sp-44-d-09 (‘Dixie Rooster  X ‘Wind Star’) Dor., E., Re., 35”, 5”, 5-way branching, 35 BC.  This distinctive dark purple-black self with a glowing yellow to green throat won “Best Seedling” at the 2010 Richmond Show.  Named by our friend Faith because she thought the bloom resembled a little flying bat, this would be an especially nice addition to a “Halloween” garden.  Our hybridizing efforts have included working for spidery cultivars with multiple branches and high bud count.  We also are breeding for spiders and UFOs in smaller bloom sizes.  Introductions in the future will include a large line of these smaller spider/ufos in all colors from white to black and every color in between.  Easy fertile both ways.
