This year has been a very difficult year.  It has been hotter than ever and precipitation has been at a minimum.  We jest that our garden is the driest place in the USA.  However, even with all this adversity our plants bloomed well, which goes to show that we are producing exceptional plants that do well in the worst of conditions.  This only reaffirms that daylilies are the best plant you can ever have in your garden.  We are hopeful that next year will be a better story for everyone who gardens!
 
All Small World Garden daylilies are grown in full sun and in soil that is "natural", only adding compost to keep the soil well amended.  
We lovingly water by hand so the daylilies will look as good as they can and we fertilize sparingly giving the plants the right amount of added nutrition.  By doing this, scape height and bloom size are basically what you will see in your garden when you grow our cultivars.  We take pride in providing plants that will perform well and are true to measurements as registered.  With continued care from you, the gardener, our cultivars will perform well for you.

 
 We invite you to visit our garden.  You will see over 1,000 of the newest daylilies available.  We prefer large, round, ruffled, eyed, edged, miniatures, spiders and unusual forms.  We also grow from 1,500 to 5,000 of our seedlings each year.  Our display garden also contains several hundred different perennials, 250 named hostas, ornamental grasses, sedum, spring bulbs and other wonderful companion plants.  Our garden is open for visitation during the months of June and July from 7:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. by appointment.  Please call before coming so we will there to greet you.

 It is our goal to produce taller northern hardy plants with great branching, plant habit, rebloom and a pretty face.  We test all daylilies by lining them out in August, which is the hottest time of the year here.  We do not use any fertilizers at all on our first year seedlings to ensure that they will do well with
 little-or-no care.

SHIPPING INSTRUCTIONS:  We ship bareroot plants by UPS & USPS.  Please be sure to give us a UPS address.  If you prefer US PRIORITY MAIL please indicate this on your order.  Shipping charges are $10.00 plus $2.00 per plant after the first plant (add $35 for next day air). USA SHIPMENTS ONLY. 

We do not ship plants until we feel they are the proper size and quality.  We ship from late April through October 20.  We will ship earlier but buyers should keep in mind that the plants will be smaller due to our growing season.


 We recommend ordering early as most are already in short supply.    A list of substitutes would be helpful. No substitutions will be made without your permission.

GUARANTEE: We guarantee freshly dug, blooming size plants. All are propagated from field divisions.  We personally dig every plant and we are proud of the large plants we send out.  We give a Bonus of our choice on every order above $35.  Bonuses are approximately 25% of your order.  If you allow us to substitute we will try to select the bonus from your substitute list.  Clubs orders of $500 or more will receive  80% bonus or better.

We are available to speak at clubs to present our seedling program.  Call for details. We look forward to hearing from you.  Please note that I do not fly.  So if I can drive within 5 to 6 hours from here I would love to come to your club meeting.  I also bring plants for an auction to help defray the costs to the club.
