Barry Matthie of Bonibrae Daylilies also grows more than 8,000 seedlings per year, with a strong focus on Tetraploid Spiders, during peek bloom this is a site to be seen, the tall scaped large (huge) spiders that are growing in the field are a marvel to look at.
The weekend of June 29th, 2002 (Canada Day Weekend) will be our gala opening this year, although very few daylilies are in bloom at this time, all of the named varieties will have pictures at the beginning of each row with a full description and price. This allows our customers to purchase their daylilies and enjoy the bloom in their own gardens. We will be open every weekend from July 1st to the long weekend in August. All other times please call ahead to 613-393-2864 to confirm your visiting time.
For those of you that are members of the Canadian Hemerocallis Society this is also the location of this years CHS Pot Luck Picnic and Pool Party on July 20th, we will be open to the public on this day as well.
Please do come out and join us this summer, daylilies
have recently been imported from the United States, many of which could
not otherwise be found in Canada. We potted approximately 3000 plants newly
imported to Ontario.
See you here.
